How long does it take to become a real estate agent in Arizona?

If you are 18 and have proof of legal residence in Arizona, you can become a certified real estate agent. But you can’t provide services without Arizona real estate license. For it you will need to:

  • Complete the 90 hours of pre-licensing education,
  • Obtain a DPS Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card,
  • Fill a Disciplinary Actions Disclosure Form and related documents,
  • Pass the Arizona Real Estate exam,
  • Attend a 6-hour contract writing class.

Then you can apply for your license to the Arizona Department of Real Estate.

On average, it may take from you couple of months to complete your pre-licensing education and pass the exam. After receiving your application, it may take 3-4 weeks from ADRE to approve your Arizona Real Estate license.

You will need to complete 24 hours of Continuing Education to renew your license every 2 years.

How much does it cost to get a real estate license in Arizona?

For your Arizona Real Estate License you will need to pay $60, if you are going to be a salesperson. For the Arizona Real Estate broker’s license you will pay $125. As mentioned above, you will need to renew your license every two years. And for your salesperson license renewal you will pay $125. If you’re a broker, for your license renewal you will pay $250.

How hard is the real estate exam in Arizona?

Before passing the exam, you complete a pre-licensing education. Besides, there are courses and books for you to get prepared for your Arizona Real Estate license exam.

For both licenses the salesperson and for the brokers the exam consists of 180 national and specific for the state questions. You must answer at least 75% of the questions correctly to pass the exam, you will be given 5 hours, to complete your exam.

You will need to pay $75 as a licensing exam fee and take with you to the testing center your transcript and ID.

Can I transfer my California real estate license to Arizona?

If you have a real estate license in California and are going to move to Arizona, you will need to meet some requirements:

  • Be at least 18,
  • Provide proof of Arizona residency,
  • Submit your transcript from your California pre-licensing education school,
  • You should submit your license exam score,
  • You will need to complete 6-hour Contract Writing Course in Arizona,
  • Submit a certified license history,
  • Obtain a DPS Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card,
